What submenus do you mean exactly? I see arrows and I'm currently using Konqueror 2.2.2.

see submenu of "ABOUT THE OED"
arrows are missing after
"Dictionary staff and advisers"
"Contributing to the OED"
"Archive" etc

They also work for me in Konqueror. Make sure you let the page load completely, their server is very slooowwww.
