Bear with me as I'm a complete newb to any kind of Firefox programming...
However, I've got a list of bookmarks exported from Delicious with tags that I'm trying to import into Firefox. I found a few options online including a ruby script, an online site that claims to do it, and a commercial bookmark manager. I couldn't get any of these to actually work so I think I'm going to have to do it myself.
Presently, I've all the bookmark info in 2 tables in excel: table 1 has an ID# and all the bookmark info (title, URI, dates, description, etc.), while table 2 has 2 columns, a matching ID# in column 1 and the tag name in column 2.
Now, is there anything like a COM api that I can access through Excel's VBA to script the addition of each bookmark with its related tags? If so, can anyone point me towards where this is documented?
If not, can anyone point me towards a complete documentation of Firefox's .json bookmark format, so I can script the creation of a new .json file to import into Firefox?
