Composer has a habit of changing the code and inserting < br > tags everywhere. I had to clean the code up whenI use Composer. Now I use HTML-Kit which uses IE as the preview engine. I can't wait til Composer becomes better because IE does not render standard compliant pages very well.

For plain text-editiong, I love Crimson Editor ( http://www.crimsoneditor.com ). I has syntax highlighting and will let you do "live editing" over ftp.

Still you will get <br> I am getting it inside empty <td> </td>, <li> </li> (this is a known issue)
at download site wrote:fix for bugzilla bug 205946 is in; it reduces VERY significantly the number of <br> in new documents. Warning: empty elements like an empty paragraph still need to contain a <br> to allow caret placement.
new download site is http://webperso.easyconnect.fr/danielgl ... ser++.html

I wish Composer++ should be capable of editing JSP, PHP, ASP etc.
Now <% ---code--- %> will be converted as & lt;% ---code--- %& gt;
But before editing it in Composer++ if all "<%" is replaced as "<!-- <%" and "%>" as "%> -->" to get somthing like "<!-- <% ---code--- %> -->" in your text editor, and then change extention of JSP, PHP, ASP to *.htm, you will be able to edit it in Composer++ with out any problem.

I would like scripting of serverside languages as well. Then you could truely be able to use composer++ much more.

News: New version on 2003-june-06

Few more issues:

1) When you do Save while editing in HTML Source mode. Composer automatically switch you to Normal Mode. This is annoying if you would like to continue editing in HTML source mode.

2) Occasionally when I edit and save, the carriage Return gets repeated, try "about.htm" in "about.zip" at http://www.geocities.com/bijumaillist/mozilla/

3) Only publishing with FTP, No provision to publish on server, which runs SSH.
