Building with Gemal's instuctions

Post by nilson »

I have followed the instruction for building Firebird on gemal.dk to a T, but I have used D:\mozilla instead of C:\mozilla. I don't get any of the errors mentioned on the site, but about 30 minutes into the build process, GCC exits with four errors. I guess this may be related to the current de-funked tree? I also have checked all the programs according to the site, and they are fine and report the correct verison numbers. Any Idea whats wrong?

Anyway, how do I update my tree without re-downloading the whole thing? Also, does anyone have a batch file that will update my source tree (In D:\mozilla\mozilla\) and build?

Also, any other tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've read the instructions on mozilla.org and just read the official ones, but the mozilla.org ine does not tell me how to UPDATE the source on Win32. I dont really nderstand the official ones. I'm very new to this whole thing about building for yourself,

have you tried make -f client.mk checkout ? or make -f client.mk fast-update ?

don't know which will work on win32, I use both on Linux, fast-update on Fb/Tb, checkout occasionally, as needed
