When entering lists (numbered or unnumbered) or indenting, Thunderbird inserts extra space - a blank line - before and after the list or indented text. How do I prevent this?

You could edit the HTML source of the message.

You could style the text in the compose window using the userContent.css file, but the recipient won't see the changes. Similar thread: viewtopic.php?f=39&t=3094515 @pokeefe
I tested a bulleted list in the compose window. The spacing looks normal. You can use an inline style to change the spacing. JSFiddle examples http://jsfiddle.net/42crtmpe/ http://jsfiddle.net/vnosc0e4/ Gmail and other webmail interfaces may strip out the inline style. The <ul> element has a top and bottom margin of 16px and a padding-left of 40px by default. Styling lists http://developer.mozilla.org/docs/Learn ... ling_lists
