I just struggled through going from XP to Windows 10 and then getting the current thunderbird working and to my liking. The last software thing I need is a new thunderbird design. If I disable updates, will that leave my thunderbird alone?
Also I looked on the web and found a "policy" DisableAppUpdate will prevent updates. The problem is I wouldn't know a policy if it bit me in the ankle.
If disabling updates will save my thunderbird, can someone please point me at what to do to acquire/install a policy in thunderbird?
Thank you.

Oh, this will protect my current version, and I don't have to worry about policies?DanRaisch wrote: Try menu path Tools->Settings->General->Updates->select "Check for updates but let me choose whether to install them". On my system running Win 10 this causes TB to display a fairly large dialogue box (outside of TB) asking for permission to update the program. Exiting that dialogue box stops the update process, leaving the existing version of TB in place.
