COMPLETE REDESIGN OF TBIRD JULY 2023

I just struggled through going from XP to Windows 10 and then getting the current thunderbird working and to my liking. The last software thing I need is a new thunderbird design. If I disable updates, will that leave my thunderbird alone?

Also I looked on the web and found a "policy" DisableAppUpdate will prevent updates. The problem is I wouldn't know a policy if it bit me in the ankle.

If disabling updates will save my thunderbird, can someone please point me at what to do to acquire/install a policy in thunderbird?

Try menu path Tools->Settings->General->Updates->select "Check for updates but let me choose whether to install them". On my system running Win 10 this causes TB to display a fairly large dialogue box (outside of TB) asking for permission to update the program. Exiting that dialogue box stops the update process, leaving the existing version of TB in place.

Oh, this will protect my current version, and I don't have to worry about policies?
