I assume you mean that you can do it with the SP skin, but I think the op meant out of the box.

Sorry for being vague. I wasn't certain if the OP's question was, in fact, related to toolbar button text, thus the screen shot as a means of clarifying.

If it is, then my response is that Thunderbird is clearly capable of handling the no-text option but that the default theme has not been modified to provide this functionality (as yet), no?

Yes, that is the way I see it too. Think I'll install SP just for the hell of it.

As Lumiere the Candle-Stick might say, "Be my guest!" :)

Installed easily and I like it. Only *mini* PITA is that the text in some places is hard to read on the dark blue background and the white message window is "shocking" after all that color.

Yes, it has been brought up before. However, the theme does allow one to override specific styles without affecting the same styles in other themes. If interested, see http://www.projectit.com/skypilot/override.html for some examples.

thanks for your replies.
Yes, that was what I meant.
However, I'm not a fan of SP, I currently use phoenity.
So this depends on the theme being used, it's really too bad. Hope it will be changed in the future.

I'm certain most themes will be updated to work with Thunderbird eventually.

Good luck...

Too bad a few images are missing... Phoenity with the default "Draft" folder image and default image if unread mail is in a folder isn't as pretty as it could be :)
