Hi,

I used the above to export my profile from XP to Vista, but there was a difference that had me scratching my head for an hour because it was not working for me, but I have finally figured it, which is good for me as I normally have to do loads of searches before I find the answer, anyway the profile data from below:

C:\\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\\MIKE\\APPLICATION DATA\\THUNDERBIRD\\PROFILE

Must be placed in the 'ROAMING' folder and not the 'LOCAL' one

E:\Users\MIKE\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\

Hope someone finds that of use.

thanks for the tip for Vista, but I'm still running into some problems.

for one thing, I can't find an slt file (there isn't one in my new profile folder or my old one)

Roaming>Thunderbird>Profiles>######.default

and now my prefs.js has a character error.

.slt was the old extension for the profile folder. For quite a while it would default to ".default" or you could name it and it would then end with ".name"

As I said earlier in this topic, dragging up an almost 4 year old topic really isn't the best way to resolve this issue. Please start a new topic so that we can continue there. Dragging this up will just confuse you and others looking for help with this. The program and the profile have changed enough to cause confusion.

Locking so this doesn't get dragged up again.
