Upgrade issue from windows 8 to windows 10

Dear Team,

Couple of days ago I have upgraded my system from windows 8 to windows 10. after the upgrade whichever new email come with any attachment related to Microsoft application like word, excel files are can't be viewed for its content. It shows blank attachment even though saved and viewed. But when I forwarding same to gmail account, I can see content of an attachment.

If you save the attachment , exit Thunderbird, and double click on the file using Windows Explorer does the attachment get displayed by the appropriate Microsoft application?
Do you have any problems with attachments meant for non-Microsoft applications?
Last I heard (about 2 weeks ago) they're weren't any known Windows 10 specific Thunderbird bugs.
