Remove duplicate messages

Is there a current program available supported by thunderbird that will remove duplicate messages? Some how during me moving to a new computer I have inadvertently processed my email twice and would like to slim down my email folders. I did find this one (remove_duplicate_messages_alternate-0.3.12-tb.xpi) but am not sure if it is compatible with v 45.1.1.

But, Have you tried contacting the author about asking him if he's prepared to update the Rem Dup Mess-Alt?
Seems like he's pretty busy with other "life/family/work type stuff", so.....?

Thunderbird 10 added the "compatible by default" feature. That means an add-on should work if the add-on supported at least version 5, doesn't have a binary component (only Lightning and Enigmail do, I think), the add-on author didn't explicitly state he wants to disable that feature or the add-on calls an API that is broken.

The alternative add-on LIMPET32 pointed to states "Works with Thunderbird 5.0 - 32.*" near the top of the web page, but if you look in the developer information section it quietly mentions "Works with Thunderbird 5.0 and later". The difference is due to the add-on developer not wanting to go to the hassle of keep updating the add-on just to bump the "maximum supported version" setting stored in the add-ons manifest file, since it doesn't make any difference.

I wish if you're using Windows Outlook, then I could surely help you in this. I have no idea how to do that in Thunderbird. If you'll find any solution, please share it here with us. There's a couple of clients who desperately want to know this. I can help them.

You tried both https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunde ... ages-alte/ and https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunde ... -messages/ and couldn't get either to install? I had no problem installing them using Thunderbird 45.2.0. You don't have to do anything to use the "compatible by default" feature other than use version 10 or later of Thunderbird.
