Data restore only showing email subject line, no content

I had to restore my Thunderbird data file on my Win 10 PC from a backup after a PC crash. Thunderbird loaded the data file fine, but only the subject lines loaded, none of the email content. Any ideas of what might have caused this?

How is that mail account set up, as POP or IMAP?
Did you try right clicking on the name of the folder in the left hand pane and then selecting "Properties" and then click on the "Repair folder" button?
