Thunderbird settings

I am currently using Thunderbird 17.0.8, am am generally very satisfied with the service it provides.

I do have one issue.

My eMail server is RoadRunner/Spectrum.

When eMails are sent over from RoadRunner, there seems to be some option within Thunderbird that deletes those eMails from my RoadRunner 'Deleted Items' file within a certain number of days, like maybe 2 weeks. Is there a setting within Thunderbird that that time period can be changed.

It is possible that I do not fully understand the interface between these 2 services and there may be a different issue happening.

Can someone provide me with additional insight how this works.

How is the account set up in Thunderbird, as POP or IMAP? Find out using menu path Tools->Account Settings->Server Settings->Server Type at the top right of the dialogue.

Thanks Dan for reply, I have two x bigponds accounts(email names) and one gmail.

I can only open one of the bigpond email accounts at this stage, got me beat.

OK, but that doesn't tell us how those accounts are set up.
