Windows 10, unread mail notification(icon) in taskbar

For the last several versions of TB, the notification area icon indicating new or unread mail persists long after all (inbox) mail is read. I have to look, of course, then open another file or stroke the icon to get it gone. It's not a biggie, but it is quite annoying.
