email notifier

Hello,
Can anybody recommend a “new mail” notifier that works with my TB portable. I’ve tried a couple but they were junk. I know that TB has a notifier that alerts you about new emails when I open it but I want one that will do it when TB is closed. I’m tired of having to check my email every 10 minutes or sometimes forgetting to. Why can’t the TB engineers include a notifier in TB. I’m sure that I’m not the first that would like one.

Why are you closing Thunderbird between checks? Minimize it to that task bar and you'll get your notices.
