Night Mode

Post by metal321 »

I suppose there really isn't really much development going
on with Thunderbird now but I am wondering if there is
any way a night mode could be implemented that could
give emails a dark background. I have a good dark theme
for Thunderbird but the white backgrounds of emails
are way too bright for me since I am usually in a dark
room.

Hi,
Try this from...
Tools > Options > Display > Formatting.
The back ground colour can be changed there. AFAIK.

ps. Sitting in a darkened room, staring at a bright screen is not a good way to view your computer screen
& makes it hard on your eyes.
Always best to have a smallish light (25 or 40 Watt), on in the back ground to create ambient light.
This will "soften" the computer's brightness.

ps. A "cool, white" LED lamp is a good choice..Just don't aim it at yourself or the screen.

(Always choose the "Custom" Install.)

I've found having a inexpensive floor lamp with three lights that I point to bounce light off the wall behind the PC works well because it diffuses the light over a large area. If I use just a floor lamp that shines downward or just a table lamp it tends to create a bright area within a dark room, which is hard on my eyes.

Since we're discussing lighting at night time have you heard about f.lux? https://justgetflux.com
Windows 10 also has a built-in equivalent. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/hel ... night-time
