Is Lighting the Default Calendar in Thunderbird

Post by gugarci »

I've been using Thunderbird as my default home email client for decades. I've also been using Lighting for along time since previous versions of Thunderbird did not have a calendar. Since I recently updated to Thunderbird 60 I found out that Thunderbird now includes a calendar.

Is Lighting the default calendar for Thunderbird? If not should I remove Lighting? Apparently Thunderbird has been using Lighting since version 38 according to a post I read on the Mozilla support forum.
Thanks.

Yes it is the default calendar in Thunderbird and has been bundled with the application since version 38.0.

Thanks.
That explains why every time Firefox has updated in the recent pass Lighting kept working without needing an update.
