Hi,
I am running Windows 10 and MS Office 2010. I set up Thunderbird as my default email client, yet when I click on the Send email function in Office Outlook express opens and I couldn't find a way to change it to thunderbird.
When I click on an email address thunderbird opens but not for office.
Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?
Thanks

That's because the function is not controlled by Thunderbird but by Windows. See this article -- https://www.groovypost.com/howto/change ... 10-mailto/I couldn't find a way to change it to thunderbird.

Re: MS Office 2010 email triggers Outlook
I did what the article says, and when I click on a mailto: link Thunderbird opens just fine, but from office when I click on the option attach this document in an email Outlook opens.
I tried to change it from the protocol options but in calendar and other protocols the thunderbird is not listed.
Any idea how to solve it?

Are you trying to resolve this on a system running Linux?

No, I mentioned that I was running Outlook Express, thus Windows 10.

I know that but the user agent string your browser is reporting reads "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/72.0.3626.119 Safari/537.36"

Not immediately, no, but I'm using Thunderbird 60.5.3 and not seeing the issue when sending from Office 2010 under Win 10.Any idea how to fix it?
Have you rebooted the computer after changing the default program for mailto in Windows settings?

Yes I did. There is an issue regarding the office 2010 attach to email function when the default email software isn't thunderbird.
