Weird Spam Marking Behavior

Post by D.Dancer »

So I make it a point to check my spam / junk folders regularly because non-spam email occasionally does get marked as spam / junk.

That's not so much the problem as is when I mark the message "As Not Junk";
  1. The message might not be moved back to the inbox
  2. If it is moved back to the inbox, the "junk" flag is still on.
  3. Or I will come back to the inbox later and find the "junk" flag is suddenly turned back on.
Not sure what's up with that.

How is the account set up in Thunderbird, as POP or IMAP? Find out using menu path Tools->Account Settings->Server Settings->Server Type at the top right of the dialogue.

The accounts in which this is happening are all set up as IMAP accounts, and are gMail accounts.

On the gMail page settings itself, the junk is turned off, and the person whom is sending me the email is in my address book there.

The person is also in my local address book on tBird as well.

Right click on the name of the Inbox folder in Thunderbird and select Properties from the context menu displayed, then click on the "Repair folder" button.
Repeat those steps for the Junk folder in Thunderbird.
