Need to change the font and background in different color

I have tried to change the font and background in different color in Options Menu. For some reason it didn't change as I want and still show the blue font and white background which I don't want to see because I have the 32" front display panel TV which can be used as a monitor. I find white background is too much for me to see the whole screen. Can I change this or not? My Thunderbird version is 60.5.3 (32-bit). Please let me know how to change the colour in both with text and background.

Thank you for the links and that is not the one I want. I need the background of browser or email in black and font in white so I can read better instead of white in background and font in black which I find it hard to read. That's where I want to have them changed if not then I will go with other browser and email too.
