Unable to Change Font

I have recently downloaded version 68.0 (32 bit). Inbound messages and all outbound messages are now smaller font from previous Thunderbird versions that I cannot seem to change using the standard approach: Tools/Options/ Display or Composition. I can select a different font and size, back out, re-start, but nothing changes. A program bug perhaps? Or is there some other trick to make a font/size change for composing messages? Thanks!

Thanks for the article link. I reviewed and still had no success. I used trial and error and this is what I found worked:

Tools/Options/Display/Formatting

Default Font (Calibri/30) (Changing values here didn't seem to affect anything I could see)

This was key: Click on Advanced

Default Font: Latin
Uncheck: Use fixed width for plain text messages
Monospace: (I chose Arial/16) That allowed messages to be composed in the desired Font/Size
