thinderbird 9.1.3 not loading

I upgraded my laptop from 78 to 91.3 today and I cannot get Thunderbird to load. Thunderbird comes up but nothing loads, just a white screen with the screen split. If I go into troubleshooting mode I can get everything to come up, but my add-ons are disabled, but my email comes in.

How can I fix this ? It was working before the upgrade.

Disable half of the add-ons, restart and see if that fixes the issue, continue until you find the one causing it and see if you can update it, or just remove it.

what Addons do you have? seems like it could be a faulty Addon

When things work properly in Safe Mode but not in Standard Mode it often indicates that an installed extension is causing problems.
Try disabling all extensions but one and then close and restart the program. (Disable them by using menu path Tools->Addons->Extensions->click on "Disable" for every extension but one.) See if the problem is present. If not, enable an additional extension and close and restart the application. Repeat this procedure until the problem reappears. The last enabled extension will be the cause of the problem.

it actually turned out to be an addon that was not updated for the new version.
