I just upgraded from 48esr something to 78.10.1 I want to remove the area between the list of emails and an email content. I don't know what it is called, so I have no idea how to search for it That area contains: From, Subject, To, with tabs and time on the right side. Taking MUCH to much space on the small (work) laptop display.

Re: How do I remove the area above an email content
I see there are 38 views with no answers--does this mean there is no way to remove that BIG wasted space?

Don't be so impatient. You typically get a reply within 24 hours.
Check out the Compact Headers add-on at https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/th ... rs/?src=ss . Since you're using version 78 expand the version history at the bottom and find version 2.23 which supports version 78.
You can toggle between compact and expanded headers, and even use view -> headers -> hide headers to hide ALL of the headers. I read my mail using the message pane (F9) so hiding headers works well as I can always look at the folder listing
