Address Book
Disappointed with the new Address Book roll out. I had to poke around to find it. That is irritating. Maybe next time send out a notice stating where something has been moved to.

Re: Address Book
We are not run by or formally associated with Mozilla despite the similarity in the names. We're just a independent user community. None of the developers read these forums (or the official support forums).
The UI architect has a forum at https://thunderbird.topicbox.com/groups/ux for "Discussion of prototypes and major UX improvements" (NOT for user support). You could leave some feedback there.

Re: Address Book
Sorry, but the above information is incorrect. Topicbox forums are provided for the specific stated purpose, which for UX is "Discussion of prototypes and major UX improvements..." and https://thunderbird.topicbox.com/groups/ux/settings continues by providing an alternative of https://support.mozilla.org/questions/new/thunderbird. The OP's suggestion does not rise to the level of major UX design.tanstaafl wrote:We are not run by or formally associated with Mozilla despite the similarity in the names. Re: Address Book
You are essentially saying he can't have a short conversation, he is supposed to submit something through another channel and hope it gets eventually collected and used.
Browsing the various topics at that topicbox I can see plenty of threads about minor stuff such as change the wording for "Restart to Update Thunderbird", asking for a "visual indicator of a successful Thunderbird program update file completion." and asking for the ability to empty trash with one click. Hardly major UX improvements. I also noticed you thanking somebody for mentioning "One small bemol, when Spaces Toolbar is folded, the menu show no Title next to icons... a minor pb you may have already fixed likely but just thought to mention it.." in the topicbox thread about "New icons and default folder colors"
Perhaps you should discuss with the UI architect better wording for the description for that topicbox as I've noticed he is quite willing to say stuff like "Other than this little bit, the rest of your message seems a bit out of context and not really helpful to the core of the conversation." but doesn't seem to complain about topics about little things.

Re: Address Book
I would not included the word hope, but otherwise you describe how most companies efficiently structure their feedback channels.tanstaafl wrote:You are essentially saying he can't have a short conversation, he is supposed to submit something through another channel and hope it gets eventually collected and used.
The starting point of your last example is based in a thread where feedback about design changes was requested https://thunderbird.topicbox.com/groups ... 846f6cbe75. In that case, it matters not whether a minor or major point was made.tanstaafl wrote:Browsing the various topics at that topicbox I can see plenty of threads about minor stuff such as change the wording for "Restart to Update Thunderbird", asking for a "visual indicator of a successful Thunderbird program update file completion." and asking for the ability to empty trash with one click.
