HTML & Pictures

Post by BanjoTEKE »

How can I view HTML Messages with the pictures? If I get an HTML message, it doesn't show pictures and the formating isn't correct.
Thanks,

Cannot view HTML

I'm in the same boat. I cannot view HTML messages. All previous suggestions have been implemented but still no pictures. I did find out that when I forward the message all of the pictures appear in the forwarding message.

what do you mean by "are you using imap?" ?
I am having the same problems un version .7.2 with viewing HTML content in emails. Nothing I have found in any post has helped. Does anyone know whether there is a setting I am not using or whether this is a bug that is being addressed?

I am also having the same problem but only at home. At my office everything works fine. I use POP3 and host my own mail server with Exchange 2003. Any ideas?

It seems that I only have problems with emails that I imported from Outlook. The only other thing I have done is completely uninstall Microsoft Outlook. Don't know whether that affected anything or not but any new email I have received with HTML content has displayed just fine.

Update. I am also only having problems with imported messages. I was previously using Eudora. jhuddle had a problem importing from Outlook and I have a problem importing from Eudora. It looks like import is the problem. New messages are fine. Can anyone else confirm this?

Guys (n gals) please check this setting in Thunderbird

tools...options...advanced... 'block loading of remote images' .. if you want to see pics ( remote pics, not pics that are attachments ) take the check off

if the pics you are referring to are actually attachments.. then

put a check next to view...display attachments inline

Hope that helps

I looked at the 'block loading of remote images' setting and it appears to be off by default.

Mine is also unchecked. It still seems to be import related.
