TBird doesn't start with normal Linux User

Post by DrClou »

Hello there!
I'm migrating from Win to Linux (SuSE 8.1) and I'm happy to have at least the same browser (Firebird) and mail-app (Thunderbird) on Windows and Linux. When I log in as root there is no problem with starting Thunderbird but if I try to start it as a normal user (tried even to add username to root-group) it doesn't work. The process (or some called minotaur) is in memory and using CPU with 40% to 70% until I killed it after about 2 minutes.

I tried a new download and extracted it with my user-account to be shure to have correct rights on the files - nothing!

Don't have any more ideas, why it doesn't work. Please help me!

Thanx and bye

I had a similar bug, but this was related to ownership of the files...
