The big change in this build is the introduction of a contact side bar for the mail compose window. See the screen shot. You can drag and drop addresses from the side bar into the addressing widget. Or you can double click them. Or you can use the buttons at the bottom. This is still a work in progress and I may tweak the look or the wording for this feature.

To use this feature, click on the Contacts button in your toolbar. Or click on View / Contacts Sidebar.

For the complete list of changes, visit the change log.

Known Issues unique to this build:

None yet

As always, enjoy!

Very commendable work. Something I want that I didn't even know I wanted. :)

Sending your email to Mr. T and The Hulk. Nice connections, mscott. I know the Hulk is real. *crosses fingers*

Looks good, although I'm not sure why the sidebar font is much larger than everything else... Something I can change to make it normal size? It's way too big as is (I've even tried different themes)

I've noticed this also. At first glance it looks like it's using the font I specified in my variable width font setting.

Sure enough... Just had to shrink my "Proportional font" size down to 12 and it matches everything else... Was set at 16 (I think default).

MScott ...

Well, at least two things didn't get fixed:

1) the problem with the attachment window lacking a scrollbar if both the first attachment and any part of the last attachment are visible ...

2) the two blank messages, date/timed 12-31-1969, 7:00 PM, that show up each time the inbox is opened ...

Maybe next time?

A new Mozilla Thunderbird Installer based on Thunderbird build 25th June 2003 is out! Get it here! Read the instructions carefully!

Uninstall your old build first! (I changed the directory to which it installs in)

I will be adding a mirror site soon.

Please, if the installer works for you, post ur amount of ram and operating system here. I want to find out the minimum specifications with which the installer works. Btw, this installer is for Windows only.

Any problems please post here. Thanks.

Very nice feature :)

But how about a right-click context menu for the individual contacts with options to open the "[Contact] Properties" window and to delete the contact? (And perhaps yet another option to "Add contact to address bar") Currently I have to open the address book to do this.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by a "add contact to address bar" option?

Two questions. The contacts bar in the compose window should have a small side bar 'x' button which you can click to close the side bar. It is the same icon used in the mozilla firebird side bars. In your screen shot, I don't see this button. Does it not show up for you?

2nd question is off topic (forgive me). What native windows theme are you running that gives you that silver color for the toolbar background.

address bar = "addressing widget" ;)

A right-click on a contact opens a context menu with an option to "Add this contact to the addressing widget"

But this isn't necessary I think, more important would be the "Properties" and "Delete" context menu options :)

UPDATE: Sometimes the geocities site exceeds the allocated data transfer.

A mirror site can be found here.

Let me know if anything still goes wrong.

I've just done a clean install of TB this morning and I'm not seeing the 'x' button on the contacts sidebar using the default theme. Although if you hover the mouse over where it should be you can see it become raised.

EDIT: I had a brain meltdown this morning.. I'm actually running Orbit Classic.. The 'x' is there with the default theme.

Other than that it's a great build so far.. :)
