Computers are much better in multi-tasking than humans, as it seems. ;-)

I see a nightly available for 3.2 but no partials.
No big deal I guess since this was the only checkin:
[Jun 29 08:54:32 2010 comm-central]# 558543 [Thunderbird] - Return receipt notification bar should not be displayed again if user chose to ignore/confirm a request (Local Folders / POP3 only) [All]

Looks like the 3.2 tinderbox has big problems.
# 568691 [Core] - Use manifests and data tables to register XPCOM components [All]
Not sure if there is a bug for the fix.

Isn't that the bug that's gonna break existing installed extensions? If it is, I hope there's gonna to be something that can be changed in the extensions by non-techy type folks like myself so at least old extensions that aren't being supported any longer can be updated to work.

Yes, that's as red as it can get... :-( The respective comm-central bug to catch this is:

Evidently, this is a necessary step to making Firefox multi-threaded.
Will that ever actually happen??I'm not sure, since I've seen some comments from authoritative sources, that it will never happen completely throughout the core code.

XPCOM changes

Since they boldly bumped the Gecko number from 1.x to 2.0, they are probably going a "now or never" approach with certain features. ;-)

This is gonna be ugly to put it mildly. I tried the latest Minefield hourly and only two of the twelve extensions I use still work. At least for the time being. Portions of one other extension worked. I thought that to be kinda weird.

Edit: After XPCOM respin ten of twelve are now working.

What?

I've just noticed that THUNDERBIRD_3_1_1_BUILD1 was tagged on comm-1.9.2 yesterday at 14:56:15 PDT, but without anything checked in since Fri Jun 25 and still six patches in the approval-thunderbird3.1.1 queue. Indeed, there is a build1 on the FTP site. What's going on?

Either some Gremlin hit the wrong button or 3.1.1 will be a rather low-fix minor update... or we will hopefully see a respin soon with a few more things included, and maybe standard8 was just testing the release scripts before getting serious.

Well, that's taking "Release early and often" to the extreme IMO
I think standard8 is on vacation, meanwhile bienvenu is left holding the bag on this trunk mess.
If all these areas have to be touched MXR I think we have a long dry-spell on trunk.
Did someone say something about "canary builds" Canary

And I think it will stay red for a few days now. There are a few patches, but not reviewed. SM and Sunbird are also fully red.
But the benefits from this XPCOM changes aren't not absolutely clear to me at the moment... :-k

He is back, but they have another Whistler summit next week, thus the window of activity is fairly short. I'm annoyed by a certain sloppiness that sneaked into the dot releases: No build notes any more, there is no tracking bug for 3.1.1, nothing in the news groups, so it's up to everyone's own guess what it means when a tag shows up in the pushlog. :-X

Have a look at https://wiki.mozilla.org/SeaMonkey:Release_Process:2.0.6 for comparison, that's what I'd call proper documentation of a release!
