It was the sig

Post by brianlmoon »

If I do not use the sig, it sends fine. I am gonna play with the sig and see if I can find the thing that is triggering the problem. Here is the sig:

removing the http:// from the two urls fixes it.

Oddly, I can have a URL in the message itself. If I put http://dealnews.com in the message, no problem. But, in the sig, it crashes myspell.dll

Why no Linux build?

Post by 2Bits »

Why o why? Isn't this supposed to be an open-source project, and therefore, open-source platforms should be the first to be supported?

I don't get it.

It's an open-source project so the developer doesn't have as much resource as he'd like. I'm sure someone'll build it.

I've got an unofficial build sitting in /data1/pryan.org/thunderbird, but since I'm on the blazingly fast 28.8k connection here at home, uploading will have to wait until I've got a spare 90 mins or so.

Edit: Uploading now (14:54 AEST)

Nice build, fewer configuration issues.
Did have to reinstall the jslib inordr to get QuickNote back on it's feet.
The Windows Registration kicked in. Had to manualy clean registry to remove the older Thunderbird keys.

Still an Known Issue with the typeing cursor in Mail Compose.

diePAUSE wrote:There are a few "bugs" in the new build 2003-08-26:

1) The file "contents.rdf" in "en-US-mail\locale\en-US\mozapps" shows the locale-version "1.5a". But all the rest of Thunderbird is at "1.5b".

I will fix that right now. Will be in the next set of respins.

This "bug" causes problems with MozillaTranslator-generated translations!

I will ping ben about localizing those strings

a new windows build is now up in the same location with a fix for the spell checker crash.

I **HIGHLY** recommend windows users redownload this build.

It also includes a localeVersion change to fix a localization bug for diePause

Delete mail after X days

Post by denis09 »

rivalbo wrote:Just wondering.. does Thunderbird have a feature (or an extension) to delete mail after it's been on the server for X days? Of all the things, THAT's the only thing keeping me from killing my OE shortcut..

Well, the good news is that there has been progress in the bug !
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107883

So Mozilla 1.5 might have this feature, and as Thunderbird is built from 1.5 this will most probably also end up here sometime :)

Each platform gets a build when somebody has a chance to build it.

As our main developer is on Windows, the Windows builds will always appear first.

For Linux, I've (finally) uploaded an unofficial build.

A quick question for mscott:

I think taking the time to respin some of the builds is wonderful, especially considering the severity of the issue for a milestone candidate. Thank you for doing that for us. Is there any reason to not change the date in the Help>About dialogue window? My only reason for mentioning this is that insuring multiple machines are running the most current version can be tricky if you can only go by the date of the executable file. I know, it's silly and picky... More just a curiosity of mine. Afterall, after dealing with the assault of 1500+ sobig.F emails, you have NO IDEA how happy I was to be using Thunderbird instead of Outlook.

Oh, the irony. Looks what I just got in my inbox while typing this! JOY!

Icons

Post by humuhumu »

This new build is great - but I'm getting an icon bug that used to happen using earlier versions of Mozilla (has now been fixed, I note).

Using NT4.0 (SP6), the icon for Thunderbird that shows up on the desktop or in the taskbar is distorted. It has white lines through it - you can vaguely see the outlines of the Thunderbird icon underneath, but it's as if it's viewed on a TV that hasn't been tuned in properly.

Anyone else seen this? Any idea why it's appeared now? Previous Thunderbird builds were fine. Firebird builds are fine. Early Mozilla builds (1.0 did it, I remember) had the same problem.

Thanks for the build. I was trying to build it myself, but I do not have access to the latest code from CVS (CVS is blocked by the firewall). I grabed the latest code of mozilla from the the FTP site, but the build has a bunch of errors.

Anyways, the new build seems to have problem with the calendar extension.
The tasks are not shown properly, the status of the tasks and colors do not
show. The check box on the left also do not show.

thanks

humuhumu - what icon colour depth do you have? It looks like you need at least a 24-bit colour depth for the icon to display correctly since no 16-color/256-color alternatives have been supplied.
