Compose window in beta 13/EB 14 does not send mail

Using beta 13 on both a 32-bit XP and a 64-bit Win 7. Same problem on both.

When a TBird composer window is opened by an external operation such as a "mailto" link, and the main Tbird window is not already open, any message written in that composer window cannot be sent. Clicking on "send" or pressing Ctrl-Enter will fail to do anything.

Same problem with EB 14.

I just tried it using TB 13 (TB not running, selecting send link ...) and I don't have that problem. Have you retried using the released version?

I have a similar problem with TB 14.0. I have not been able to find what immediately precedes this behaviour, but sometimes I cannot send or forward or save from the compose window. This happens erratically. When I re-start TB the problem does not happen immediately. There are no error messages related to this on the error console. Today I noticed that when I had to restart TB because it would not send, I was also unable to save a change I had made to a calendar entry in Lightning. I normally use a keyboard shortcut to send, but when this happens I click on the Send icon. The icon responds, but very slowly, not as normally, but nothing happens.

Hi,

can you tell me if you have activated my extension "virtual identity"? Or any other extension? I'm receiving error reports containing exactly this error message (see[1]), but can't find anything related to this issue in my code. Strange thing is that also checking TB14s code there is no "top"-reference in addressingWidgetOverlay.js line 322.
