Still not released. :)

Mozilla Thunderbird - Channels

indeed. please do not publicise these links. unless you are soliciting specific individuals to help test. in which case, you need the testing steps ..

Builds at https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org ... es/build2/

The general test plan is, in a new profile (but best in a clean VM)

Install the build
Add mail account - check That youI can get mail and receive mail
Add rss account - add a few feeds - see you can read them
Same for NNTP (use mozilla.test for testing)

The next section is slightly more involved. I need to check if it's ready to be tested

If you are available for testing, please PM me or visit https://chat.mibbit.com/?server=irc.moz ... %23maildev and find joe, nickname joes1

Webmail sucks...

im afraid there are people in business that Travel for work an they have to use Cloud mail which is where generally its all going. thats why there are internet cafe's so people can login to there web based email whether that be gmail or outlook or there ISP webmail login. people that use internet at internet cafe's cant just download Thunderbird or whatever email client they use at home an configure the client ther. it dont work like that. at the end of the day, its just email. my guess, spammers use web based email

One of the thing that webmail does not do for me is digitally sign or encrypt. You just cannot do it in the cloud and trust that you digital certificate is still safe.

On another topic, is anybody running the latest nightly 38.0a1 of today 2015/02/14 ?
it does not connect to some of my IMAP server any more, it connect fine to gmail imap but not to my isp imap server.
Did they change something in the handling of ssl connection ? re-installing an old build from 2015/01/17 work fine.

Thanks.

Specifically, the WinXP bug should be fixed (see previous page). Thus, if someone is running on XP, easy check to see if the beta build starts up correctly.

The winxp bug in Beta is definitely fixed.
The Beta seems in good shape, and will most likely be released early next week.
I have tested extensively in Windows, but the depth of testing for MAC's may have been a little light.
So if anybody would like to contribute, please contact me here, or on IRC

Eh, that looks ugly - if I wanted Windows 8.1, I'd install it. :doubt: Toolkit "fix" which was filed as Firefox in the typical ignorance of the Firefox developers. Expect more to come with the "Chameleon" project.

  • Bug 1125636 - Update about:config to use the new Project Chameleon style
  • Bug 1097111 - Update all about: pages to Project Chameleon [meta]

^Yep...not good. Thanks for links.

I see a little chat about it in #maildev. We'll see what happens if anything.

Maybe Paenglab fixes the regression that Paenglab introduced? ;-)

I'll have to check the "Modern" theme in SeaMonkey, it's likely broken by that change given that the box structure at least of the warning page was altered...

It is different.

Love the preferences in a tab in Daily though!

Code: Select all

jcranmer landed some fixes for the JSMime parser, watch out for (hopefully!) improvements in the quick-filter search performance and possibly elsewhere.
