ONCE AGAIN: Whatever shows up in the candidates section is just that - a candidate!

Only what shows up in https://www.mozilla.org/thunderbird/channel is actually and officially released, even if it shows up already on the releases side of the FTP server; and for 36.0b1, it's on the release side but not yet linked to from the channels web page.

And finally, DO NOT link directly to the FTP server as it's not load balanced.

Ok, that load-balancing stuff may not apply to the HTTP link, but nevertheless it's still a candidate... ;-)

im afraid there are people in business that Travel for work an they have to use Cloud mail which is where generally its all going. thats why there are internet cafe's so people can login to there web based email whether that be gmail or outlook or there ISP webmail login. people that use internet at internet cafe's cant just download Thunderbird or whatever email client they use at home an configure the client ther. it dont work like that. at the end of the day, its just email. my guess, spammers use web based email

That's one specific use case for webmail, but it's hardly being the standard case and therefor reason to declare dedicated e-mail clients "dead" - on the contrary, you may have several different e-mail addresses as a business guy that you want to consolidate in a single application to stay sane, I'd say that this is at least an equal if not more relevant use-case scenario to the one you mention.

Pretty standard to not quote if one is replying to the last reply in thread which was well yours.
