Sorry for my latency in this thread. But my time driving TB recently has been, well, interesting and time consuming. Hope you all had a great Holiday.

Maybe I have missed this, but why is comm-beta AND comm-esr38 pulling from mozilla-beta??

Good question, I didn't get that quite either. Maybe it's more convenient for checkins to maintain both branches in the same repository, though it's more confusing in this way to figure out what actually landed for 38.0 already.

No movement in comm-esr38 since May 5, thus it doesn't look like the 38.0 release is immanent.

The last Thunderbird status meeting was May 19, which states a GTB for 31.8.0 for June 20, but no specific ETA for 38.0 yet.

Now I am confused. I thought with the release (or once it is) of Thunderbird 38, the 31.x.x branch was retired with a single overlap (which I thought would be 31.8.0) on May 12th May 26th or whenever 38.0 does comes out.

Well, it likely will be, but apparently they don't consider 38.0 ready for prime time yet, thus continue with builds from the 31 ESR branch (for which however 31.8.0 should be the very last scheduled update).

So will there be a 38.0b7? Why isn't it ready for prime time?

I'll look for the answers in the minutes of tomorrow's meeting, where final planning for Thunderbird 38 will be discussed.
