I have all three on my systems.

Primarily use Daily, but Beta is good and so is the Release version for my needs. Mostly notifications, an occasional email from or to a friend, calendar, Usenet and Mozilla newsgroups, Blogs & News Feeds and Chat.

I'll launch the Beta and Release versions a couple times a week to get all the mail, feeds and posts updated. Update them when new versions are released.

Earlybird is dead. The sun has set and the dawn of the new release process has begun.

It is recommended to have different profiles for Firefox. Do/can the TBirds use the same profile?

That should be handled in bug 1353924, Project Dawn for Thunderbird.

It appears that it is a little more complicated than that.

Let's put it another way, what is the last/latest version of Thunderbird that works for Joe Soap without farting about?

I've got themes to test and get out and I need to know what versions are working on what OSs.

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbi ... leasenotes :
System Requirements:
• Window: Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 or later
• Mac: Mac OS X 10.9 or later
• Linux: GTK+ 3.4 or higher
Open the link https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/all/ after changing the useragent with User Agen Switcher to Win7 you get Thunderbird Detup 52.0.1.exe
( clear the cache befor ;))

Without changing the useragent, you got Thunderbird Setup 38.5.0.exe :?

So I would have thought that you would have to actually have a working install of TBird to do your tests. Hence my attempt to help.

Nope, no theme writer works like that, otherwise you cannot quickly check backwards compatibility on earlier versions. I always use .zips (tars on Linux) and never install.

So, the main job is done on Linux using atm 53.0b2, checked on earlier T/Bird versions and then M$ and then sent off to someone else for Mac testing. When XP said it was 'up to date' on 50.0b1 and would not then take 53 (not a Win32 execute) I figured that, like Firefox, T/Bird must be phasing out XP. I just needed to know at what version point that happens, workarounds are irrelevant here as I just need to theme to the last version that the average Joe Soap would get on XP.

When you've got your name on something and have stated that 'this X version will work on Z OS', then you do actually have had to test the X stuff on Z OS.

:)

Well that was enlightening. :-)

I really have no idea just how you do this but I see enough that I am impressed. Good luck.

I can't tell if this was answered or not.
Note that Thunderbird 52 is the last release to support Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows 2008 and Windows Vista.
