Probably to get a working Windows 32-bit build and fix other issues.ICQ5 wrote:why so many builds of TB56 ?
Build8 is the first one I've seen with a Windows build in the directory, but still no email about testing.

got a question
when Thunderbird 59ESR is released, will you still be able to use XUL based extensions in it ?

It reads as 'no' without changes by the Extension Developers.

Related to a continuum of work done forICQ5 wrote:why so many builds of TB56 ?
Bug 1387227 - Install xz on windows buildbot, for mar generation.
Bug 641212 - LZMA support for updater
Bug 1385780 - Update mar file generation scripts for lzma and sha384
and the fallout thereafter, etc, etc which were resolved by our talented new build engineer tomprince and others.
The upshot is 56.0b4 shipped as build14. Note also, ALL updates from older beta versions must pass through 56.0b3 first.

That should be expected. The forum post I linked said this is scheduled for Thunderbird 59 ESR.
I can say from experience that NONE of my TBird extensions, five, work in the current "Daily" which is TBird 59.0a1.

Not all extensions and no themes have preferences/options and that is what that link relates to.The Tinsmith wrote:ICQ5 wrote:got a question

I really don't know about this. The link I posted came from the Dev of Enigmail. He said that he needed to rework his extension (something called a bootstrap? perhaps) to work with TBird after 59 ESR.Frank Lion wrote:Not all extensions and no themes have preferences/options and that is what that link relates to.The Tinsmith wrote:ICQ5 wrote:got a question

Me, personalty, I use but six extensions, no themes, and while they work in the current release none of them work in the current TBird Daily. None of them are 'live or die' other than Enigmail and Gunpg. For business.
Assuming the Dev of Enigmail finds a solution I am fine.
Else? Thunderbird is not the only email client with Gnupg features.
Which means? I don't care either way.

The author of Enigmail is indeed very much on top of things. (Which doesn't mean instant fixes)The Tinsmith wrote:I really don't know about this. The link I posted came from the Dev of Enigmail. Note, I don't see any posts from him at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic ... kDQQk4t_Kc
Also, as most of you know many add-ons will be breaking. See https://public.etherpad-mozilla.org/p/t ... ort-issues

Would anyone happen to know why TBird Daily has not updated since Dec 7th?
