Daily Build Thread up to 2017-12-31 (after Dawn)It's stopped because Mozilla changed the compression format in the MAR files which the old updates can't handle. This needed special treatment with an intermediate update. They will be enabled soon.

I've been downloading the complete files and installing over the old version. Love the rectangular tabs. ![]() Linux Desktop - AMD Athlon(tm) II X3 455 3.3GHz | 8.0GB RAM | GeForce GT 630

good that they brought those back an got rid of the Australis Tabs, not real keen on them now I am still not getting Win Nightly auto-updates. Anyone?
have you tried a New Profile?
No I have not. And just why would that help?
what else have you tried ? any other Troubleshooting? I have tried all of the normal "try this" suggestions. Already.
It is really not that important. My entire career was dealing with problems and fixing the problems. The final solution was to just deal with it. ![]() I just figured that the devs had not yet figured out what they had changed and how to fix it. Things can get busy. Is there anyone here using the Thunderbird "Daily" Builds, either 32bit or 64bit?
I don't know how long but I can not attach a text file or a graphic to an email. It still works with the 56 beta 2. Anyone good at posting bugs? I sux.
Thank you. I had forgotten about that. The Thunderbird Daily has updated to v58.0a1 and it does not auto update. Assuming that the 'old' Daily, v57.0a1, will become the new Beta it was never patched to auto update. Would anyone know if the 'old' Beta, v56.0a1, would auto update? Since I assume that it will become the new Thunderbird release? It would be nice that the release would auto update.
I believe the routine is that fixes in the betas go into the next release which would be 52.4.0. So releases should update.
A 56.0b4 is currently under construction (build5 already), but I don't see Windows builds. That should update. Linux Desktop - AMD Athlon(tm) II X3 455 3.3GHz | 8.0GB RAM | GeForce GT 630

I have been using the "Daily" for some time but I was thinking that it might look foolish to accidentally release and it not update. I started using the "Earlybird" because of a bug in the address book in the current TBird release at that time and also the beta. The bug was fixed in Earlybird. It eventually worked it's way down to the release. I don't recall which one. It's not really important, to me, but just a thought.
