Are there some plans to make TB multithread, as FF now is?
With many accounts and thousands of e-mails TB is often "not responding" for 0.5-2 minutes...

Re: TB processes multithread?
The architecture of Thunderbird does not lend itself to doing multiprocess, and there are no near or medium term plans to change the architecture which is a very difficult proposition FWIW, Firefox is not a good reference for several reasons, but you should note it has taken them about 5 years to deliver multiprocess.
Thunderbird is already multi-thread. Most users with performance issues find a solution somewhere in https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:Te ... e_Problems If you still have the setup mentioned in http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... p=13715477 then to get rid of your performance issues you will need to make some adjustmeents
