The extension MinimizeToTray revived (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/thunde ... y-revived/) no longer works on Thunderbird 60 beta, there are no other working addons either with this functionality either. This is the 12th most popular thunderbird addon. This badly needed functionality needs to be integrated in to thunderbird.
There is already a 15 year old feature request for it, but support has never been added: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=208923 ![]() Hi,
We cannot do anything with either Thunderbird or Firefox. This is just a user-to-user help forum. &, I doubt whether any "feature" will be added to Thunderbird. Consider this, if all the suggested "features" that people asked for were installed in either program, how large the D/L would become. Moving this to the Builds fora. Ancient Amateur Astronomer

Reading release notes can be very informative.

thanks i found this guide: https://www.ghacks.net/2018/04/24/thund ... s-support/ The only problem is that there is no longer is settings box to change in the addons section. Instead if you click on the menu button then hover over addons the addon will show and you can click on it, unfortunately it doesn't render properly so you can change the options properly as shown in the screenshot below: > https://i.imgur.com/9tk4kv8.png You can see the option kinda but you can't see any button to accept the changes and you can't click on anything else on the screen, you have to close the program via file explorer but then the changes made are lost. Fortunately the default settings of the addon allow you to minimise to the tray icon, you just can't customize the settings such as right clicking on the tray icon to bring up the menu. Reason: Image tags removed to restore the forum layout. So when you go to the Menu Button > Add-ons and wait for a bit you don't see a list of extensions?
From the Menu Bar it would be Tools > Add-on Options (Add-on Preferences for Linux). If there are Options for the extension, the extension should be in that list. Linux Desktop - AMD Athlon(tm) II X3 455 3.3GHz | 8.0GB RAM | GeForce GT 630
Windows Notebook - AMD A8 7410 2.2GHz | 6.0GB RAM | AMD Radeon R5 The are no options for the extension is thunderbird 60 but there is in thunderbird 52. Here is a screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/MBjBpOX.png
The only way to see the options is to click on the extension listed in this screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/t0bQMQS.png which then shows you all the messed up text that i showed earlier: https://i.imgur.com/9tk4kv8.png Then I guess the extension isn't compatible with TB 60.0 beta.
Looks like development stopped at TB 20.

To get Thunderbird 60.0 to minimise to the System Tray try the solution mentioned in this thread: [Solved] Get Thunderbird 60.0+ to Minimise to System Tray If you're on Linux then you could look into the suggestions in this thread: Thunderbird in tray bar. [Linux.] The chances of Thunderbird ever incorporating a minimise to System Tray feature as a built-in feature are very slim. As far as I am aware Microsoft was pressuring software developers to only use the System Tray for notifications (which was a change from previous Microsoft policies on the System Tray). Hope this helps. OS: Windows 7 Pro. x64
