Thunderbird 89.0 beta thread

Post by WaltS48 »

Thunderbird 89.0b1 has been released!

As an update from 88.0b3 via automatic update, or an update prompt for a select percentage of users. If you can't wait, you can use Help > About Thunderbird.

v89.0b1 has developed the same problem as Firefox v89 of increased line spacing in the drop down menus. The css fix for Firefox suggested in http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... &t=3074065 does not appear to work in Thunderbird.

Update:

The css fix carried across from the Firefox Builds board does work; my Thunderbird userChrome.css file included at the top

*/
@namespace url(http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gateke ... s.only.xul);
/*

After removing those lines from the css the line spacing in the Thunderbird menus reverts to a more sensible look.

Further update. At http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... &t=3074250 kronckew has proposed a solution for Firefox which gets at the root cause of the change. The same solution works for Thunderbird and is to "set browser.proton.contextmenus.enabled to 'false' in about:config. The other proton entries can remain at 'true'." The edits in the userChrome.css file can be removed.

Using View > Density > Compact from the Menu button doesn't help with the issue?

Hi, Walt.

Currently using the set browser.proton.contextmenus.enabled route. When that is pulled I'll have a go at the View route.
