message in nessage list pane remains bold

Post by share666 »

Messages in the message list pane remain bold even after they have been read.
How do I set the style to normal after the message is marked as read?
I am using 113b6.
Thank you.

Right click on the name of the folder where this is occurring and select "Properties" from the context menu, then click on the "Repair Folder" button. Close and restart Thunderbird.

One of the first things I tried.
No joy. That's why I'm looking for some other trick or option.
I've searched everywhere I can think of. Many people suggested messing with CSS but I had no luck with that either.
Uninstalled and reinstalled.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the application itself has absolutely no impact on your Profile, which is where saved data such as account settings, message files, etc is stored and where most problems originate.

How is the account set up in Thunderbird, as POP or IMAP? Find out using menu path Tools->Account Settings->Server Settings->Server Type at the top right of the dialogue.

IMAP.
What I am doing is beginning to prep to move from version 102 to the new TB.
I set up a parallel instance of TB to see what the differences are.
I am using one of my gmail accounts to send / receive in 113b6 and see what's going on.
So far the differences are minor and require very little adjustment.
The one thing I noticed was that messages in the Message List Pane were bold in the beta version and not on the 102 version.
I've spent a ton of time trying to determine what I had configured differently but could not find the issue.
Hence my posting.

Here's something else that hit me.
When I go to Settings / Account Settings in 113 b6 everything is in bold.
When I go to Settings / Account Settings in 102 most everything is in normal font.
Some where - maybe in config? - some font is being set to bold and it is affecting everything.
I haven't changed anything in config in 113 b6.
I've had TB installed for so long (the non-beta version) I might have set something in config - I just don't recall.
I don't normally mess around in the config settings except to change layout.css.devPixelsPerPx from its default of -1.0 to 1.25.

Then let me ask this question: Why have you installed a beta version?

if you wanna remain on the Beta, start with a Fresh Clean Profile

I followed the instructions and set up beta with a separate profile. That is, I created a clean profile in %appdata% for beta as distinct from a folder for my normal TB.
I'm just playing around with beta using an email account I don't normally associate with my normal TB. I'm not ready to migrate to beta just yet. I understand 115 is the new production release in July. I'm just trying t learn what differences there are in beta and not screw up my normal TB environment.
