"Address Not Found" relates to what happened when I tried to get sync going to establish for sure whether it works in 2.40 .

rsx11m is correct, the link simply expresses frustration, as in "Sync will likely happen only when pigs fly..." So here's hoping that porker gets a boost to orbit soon.

(Guess you didn't watch the Super Bowl, When Pigs Fly.)

Sure did watch the commercial (don't give a RA about who wins or loses). The big difference here is that pig FLEW. This one is just kinda hovering... flew at one time, but now just hanging around, not flying, but kinda giving the idea it might... or might not...

Are there ANY further bits of info on Sync, like when it will be working again? ANYTHING?

frg's been the one looking into sync, but recently he's been busy fixing problems in comm-central due to Firefox changes.

SeaMonkey has permission to use the new Firefox sync servers but it's on SM to get the new sync code working.

Works fine, you just have to use your own server, which is not hard to do. Also much more effective than typing stray words in capitals on a forum message board.

I take it you have not found the SeaMonkey meetings wiki yet?

SeaMonkey/StatusMeetings - MozillaWiki

Is there any documentation on that anywhere? I found some stuff on Sync 1.5 but nothing on Sync 2.0.

Is there a Sync 2.0? I thought the current version is 1.5 and the old one 1.1?

That's what the meeting notes indicate and have for awhile now.
We need someone to work on porting sync 2.0 over to replace legacy sync code. The finer details of how are so far unknown, but we should have a usable solution before legacy sync is turned off.

We have official permission to use the Firefox FxA 2.0 sync servers!

You might want to read the stuff you link to sometime.

This - http://blog.swarnava.in/2014/02/new-fir ... refox.html goes nowhere and the tracking bugs stalled at the end of last year and are not about sync 2 anyway.

A SeaMonkey developer asked a question. I provided a link to their meeting notes for him.

I did read it and it does say sync 2.0. I read them after every meeting, along with meeting notes from the Category:Channel Meetings - MozillaWiki, Firefox/Meeting - MozillaWiki and Thunderbird/StatusMeetings - MozillaWiki meetings, when available.

Maybe they will correct the error at the next SeaMonkey meeting on 2016-06-07.

Nice to see the SeaMonkey council is still active and the browser being kept up to date. :)
Any ETA on the next stable release of SeaMonkey?

Thanks for posting the link. :)
I see they're skipping a couple of version numbers and the next release looks it should be 2.43 in the meeting notes.
Can't remember what version of Firefox this is going to based on. :-k
The current version of Firefox is 46.0.1.
And will the next stable version of SeaMonkey be e.g. Firefox/46.0.1 SeaMonkey/2.43?

It should be, unless they are still delayed and have to skip 2.43 also.
