But the win32 build of RC build 3 of SM 2.35 was posted there on 8/28.

final release builds of SM 2.35 will most likely happen in early September and not end of August as I read these recent blogs from the Seamonkey blog site.

(Though I do appreciate the link as I would never have thought to look in the /unsigned/ directory.)

Good to see release candidates at the ftp site. :)
IMHO it won't be that much longer for us to see a final release of SeaMonkey 2.35. ;)
And I'm really looking forward to it! :D

I haven't really been following this thread, so is SM 2.35 going to be released at the end of May or not?

Ha ha. :)

According to the linked-to blog entries a couple of posts back in this thread, it is extremely likely to be "officially" out this week!

Yes, of 2016. ;)

therube,

Yup.... I didn't say anything here, but I have been using the unsigned "version" for a week now with no problems that I can find. Caveat: I have zero time to look for bugs, as I'm working too much these days and am on the road most every day. I am looking forward to the official release though. One plus for the unsigned version is that Lightning 4,0.2 works just fine, after the problems Lightning had before which caused me to temporarily reuse Sunbird while waiting for the dust to settle.

FWIW.

(There is now a /Win32/ directory, though what is there is the same as what is in /Unsigned/ - at least with a cursory look at the checksums. And that does mean they're still plugging away at it :-).)

therube,

Definitely plugging away. I just couldn't wait any longer, so although I generally avoid pre-releases, this time I just went for it. Hope the official release will be out soon, so we can move on to other issues, like "depreciation" et al.

Yes, it's now officially announced on the SeaMonkey project page. I know it's been a lot of work to rebuild the infrastructure for a process that always just worked before. You tend to forget just how many pieces there are, and how many dependencies there are between all the pieces. Given the fact that the SeaMonkey devs are all volunteer, and have other responsibilities on the SeaMonkey project, not to mention IRL, I want to thank them for all their work in getting the Windows build process rebuilt, and a new version out the door.
Thanks for all your work everyone.

Very happy with it, seems very close, if not identical to the unsigned version. Much thanks.
