Re: The future of Seamonkey?
It doesn't really take any (much) money. Unless traffic here is heavy enough to cause considerable bandwidth, most low cost hosting packages will handle it. Mine costs me less than $50/year and I don't use 1/4 of the available BW. Attachments and graphics would use quite a bit of BW, but there isn't that much of either used on this board. I could upgrade to a higher level package for around $100/year with about 10 times the BW and disk space. Domain names can be had for $10/year or less.
I think mine's been linked here somewhere, but I'm not sure where.

You're missing the point that Open Source projects should use Open Source hosting. It's an ethics thing.Wish You Were Here wrote:It doesn't really take any (much) money. Unless traffic here is heavy enough to cause considerable bandwidth, most low cost hosting packages will han
As for the rest, as mentioned previously, I already have my own website, hosting and domain name...so I'm aware of the costs. As indeed, so would the SM Council and anyone else who has been on the Net longer than a week or so.

Re: The future of Seamonkey?
It is very Easy to find out that the mozillaZine site is hosted at the Open Source Lab at Oregon State University ... ex: http://www.mozillazine.org/about/Mouse4 wrote:this forum has nothing to do with Mozilla, so why should it be hosted for free? afaik its always been privately Ran
You have been active here long enough over the last over 5 1/2 plus years to know of this fact whether under your current Mouse4 account or as your previous Mouse5 account which you used under names of ICQ5, Arch5, Arch50, -Arch-, ArchRival over time.
You may however not be aware that Mozilla made a lot of use of the mozillaZine forum as a place for people to get support for desktop Firefox, Thunderbird and the Mozilla suite before Mozilla got their own SUMO support forum going starting mainly as of late 2007 or rather 2008 for desktop Firefox and then adding other things over the years.

Of course we couldn't know that, as the words clearly have changed over time.
If my sources are correct, it was originally called: mozzarellaWine

Not much longer. Santa is really busy. l10n translations for all supported langauages are done. This took most of the last week but they are actually in better shapen that I thought.
We will be hosting the source for it on gitlab and are still tinkering with details. Test builds for all supported platforms are done. When we are happy with everything we will push the source changes to gitlab, make the repos public for everyone to access and build it.

Re: The future of Seamonkey?
Hi, new guy here but been using SeaMonkey since early 2010s.
First of all, thanks for the great work in keeping the best Internet suite alive!
I tried to search the forum for a roadmap for SeaMonkey development, but wasn't able to find one. Is there a roadmap existing somewhere, e.g. for 2022, 2023, 2024 or feature based?
