I am also wondering about sea monkey and how long it will last. Seems that more and more websites do not play well with the monkey and my fall back browser is Safari which I don't like. I really like the all-in-one application how the old Netscape style of sea monkey. I very much like the URL progress data on the very lower left of the window, if their problems with the load I can easily tell whether it's Internet or my computer is having problems, Safari on the other hand is more geek oriented with the progress bar not as easily deciphered. Don't like using the real popular browsers as I believe those are the ones being watched by hackers and spammers the most. if anyone in the development team is watching this forum we could use a little encouragement here, if only some info about what your all talking about for the future.

... this same "monkey" which using the same backend as "the [red] panda", the main difference being the SeaMonkey tag in the user-agent string, otherwise they're hard if not impossible to tell apart... so do these websites work any better with Firefox?

This statement makes no sense coming from a SeaMonkey user.
Again, SeaMonkey has the same backend as Firefox. As such most exploits of Firefox will affect SeaMonkey too.

I have had the exact opposite experience. What specific sites are you having issues with?

Yes, I'm sure that Firefox is using the same basic engine as SeaMonkey, but I don't use Firefox very often as I really like the all-in-one app that is SeaMonkey. AND I should have kept a list of the websites that I was having problems with, I'll try to do any future. For now I can only remember three ShutterFly (https://www.shutterfly.com), Target Photo (http://www.targetphoto.com/prints.html) and 5th 3rd Banking (https://www.53.com/). it is not the beginning of these sites that cause a problem it's when you get deeper into them to adjust photos of your personal banking pages.
I could switch to Firefox but I was just interested in the future of SeaMonkey.
FYI - I use Dragon for Mac 5.0 to type on my computer and interestingly most of the time when I say "SeaMonkey" (which never comes out right, if it types it all) the browser simply quits.

So maybe I should have been more clear... in addition to a list of websites, details of what problems you are actually having would be helpful. Those sites *look* fine to me.

Also, please try some standard troubleshooting:

1. Clear cache. Preferences > Advanced > Cache > Clear cache. Sometimes the current website and the cached version do not exactly match up and that can cause issues.

2. Safe Mode. Menu > Help > Restart with Addons Disabled. If the problem goes away in Safe Mode, it's likely an extension breaking things.

FYI: SeaMonkey uses *exactly* the same renderer as Firefox, so when websites work in one and not the other that usually points to an extension or a preference that you've changed. Years ago there used to be problems with websites not recognizing SeaMonkey, which is why it now also says "Firefox" in the SeaMonkey UA string.
