Where is SeaMonkey??
SeaMonkey (and Thunderbird) used to be found on Mozilla.org, but now there is no link to or mention of SM! The only product mentioned is Firefox. How are people supposed to learn about it?

Mozilla doesn't care about us. We must spread the word ourselves, or rely on people doing web searches.

Yeah, non-Firefox applications have been quietly removed from mozilla.org, at least the landing pages. Not even Thunderbird is listed any more in their "Our Products" page, you have to go very specifically to https://www.mozilla.org/thunderbird/ (but no way for the "normal" user to find out).

If you are on a https://support.mozilla.org page and click on the mozilla tab on top it then still mentions Thunderbird there but not SeaMonkey anymore.

Is there a bug about this or is Mozilla simply pulling their underwear over their head in the hope it won't be noticed?

That's the design they've had until recently for the www.mozilla.org page as well, but it has been removed on their main page in favor of that Windows-like tiles design.James wrote:If you are on a https://support.mozilla.org page and click on the mozilla tab on top it then still mentions Thunderbird there but not SeaMonkey anymore.

Re: Where is SeaMonkey??
I don't see any bug specifically for the "Products" page (which awkwardly you can only get to by using the "About" link at the landing page), but there is some discussion about its design in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1181241. If you click the link to the "detailed discussion" you are prompted for authentication against the MoCo LDAP (so much for transparency in decision making...).LoudNoise wrote:Is there a bug about this or is Mozilla simply pulling their underwear over their head in the hope it won't be noticed?

It is SEO. That is god for a number of people, most of which are spammers.Jennifer Bertsch [:jbertsch] wrote: Hi-
Let's discuss this one in more detail too when we chat this afternoon.
This is another page that was purposely designed to be not optimized specifically for Firefox downloads - the goal is exposure to the full Firefox product offering with the ability to optimize for specific CTAs (like the google play button currently in the Android browser module).
Additionally, we want to be sure that this page doesn't steal SEO value from /new, the primary download page, which was another reason for making the download CTA less prominent.
Talk to you this afternoon,
Jen
