How to prevent updates?
I am currently using SeaMonkey 2.48, and strange to say, quite happy with it (unlike Firefox). I have started to see pleas to upgrade to a new version when I first open the browser. I suspect an auto-update is not far behind, and want to head that off at the pass, so I need to know how to permanently disable any such 'feature' in this browser.

Re: How to prevent updates?
Take a look at Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced, Software Installation. Turn off the checkbox for "Automatically download and install updates" and "Automatically check for updates". Also, avoid Help -> Check for Updates.
