Re: More space for text on toolbar
Right click on each toolbar entry and click <properties> to shorten the title/description.

Is that the Bookmarks Toolbar?fixit7 wrote:Not what I asked for.
You don't get a tool tip if the text is longer and you hover the mouse pointer over it?
I do.

Yes, I see the longer text if I hover. But I would like to see it directly.WaltS48 wrote:Is that the Bookmarks Toolbar?fixit7 wrote:Not what I asked for.

I do.
Seems like some setting in userchrome.css would do it ?

Do it in about:config.
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Select the bookmark.
Right-click.
Select Properties
Shorten the names.
Click Save.
Nobody needs something like "Allrecipes - Recipes and cooking confidence for home cooks everywhere" appearing in a tab.
YMMV

The arrowed text. in the OP image, is cut off after 7 characters, yet the bookmark text to the left of it is not cut off, despite having 11 characters.
Plus, the cut off text there does not have ellipsis .... after it and even if it did, ellipsis on bookmark items in SeaMonkey doesn't come into play until around 22 characters. Ergo, the problem is not to do with character length.
This OP needs to check for squeezed items on the toolbar (unlikely), bizarre userChrome.css entries (test with SafeMode) or check that bookmark's Name under Properties for already being deliberately shortened, either by site or OP (most likely scenario)
