Nicely done... the final fixes almost every issue I had with the Beta. Much thanks.

Yay! Now time to wait for it to get into the Ubuntu reposotories. (I use Debian, but they don't have SeaMonkey in their reposotores, and haven't since 2013, as IceApe, so I use the Ubuntu repos for SeaMonkey)

Incredible. Far better than the last release. A masterstroke.

I can't wait to see the final UI.

Frank, "far better" based on which criteria?

What are you referring to with "final UI"?

Thanks.

Which were?
Basically only 7 trivial fixes between beta and final: https://gitlab.com/seamonkey-project/se ... 53_6_final

One additional fix for the source tarball

frg,

The main issue was passwords not being picked up and inserted and, interestingly enough, one example was right here on MozillaZine. 53.5 worked, 53.6 beta didn't.
This version works just fine on that issue.

Another issue I can't verify is crashes... for whatever reason, the beta crashed more often (subjectively) than earlier versions. Too early to see if that is fixed on the final, but have not seen any crashes in the last short period of time.

frg,

Found one other possible bug, may be extension related. If you click on the list of search engines from the address bar and then click on manage them, it locks up SM and I use either Task Manager or System Explorer to end the process tree. Not a problem if you manage them via preferences.

Personally, (using only GNU/Linux), I have absolutely no problem using SeaMonkey 2.53.6 with the list of 'Search Engines'

I have installed SeaMonkey 2.53.6, in VoidLinux, debian buster (stable) and debian testing (bullseye).
And, I haven't had, any 'Search Engines' problems with either of them ... Image

No problem here either. Tried the x86 in a Windows 7 vm. If custom theme or extensions try in a test profile next.

I think the idea, on a new release thread, is to report bugs that have first appeared in 2.53.6, not old ones that you were reporting nearly a year ago -

Frank,

Am aware of posting this in the past, was answering frg's query here.
