New to Seamonkey

Post by sparky111 »

Hi folks...
I've been using SeaMonkey for a few months now and am running ver 2.53.12

I have problems viewing certain sites, like msnbc, com and other news sites.
I cannot view videos on most sites. ](*,)

Is it an installation problem? Configuration issue?

Some sites e.g. msnbc, msn, linkedin, chase, etc. don't work properly with SeaMonkey. To my knowledge, it has not been stated as to whether the SM developers are working to remedy these problems which are becoming ever more common.

Some sites can become operational after modifying your user agent string, either for all of SM or per site, but I think this helps only if the site complains to you that your browser is unsupported. Search this forum for info.

I don't understand user-agents, so I just created another profile in my Firefox and removed Seamonkey.
Problem solved.

Well....I suppose that's one way to fix SeaMonkey.

Good luck.

Seeing as this has run it's course & been "fixed", this is getting locked.
