Is SM dead?

Post by peebs »

Let me just say that I love SM and have been a user since the 1980s!
BUT, more and more web pages are giving out the "Browser not supported" message and lately I am getting emails where the body is just empty - although they do open properly in my Android phone!
I am up to date - 2.53.16 but am still getting these problems.
On another point I was continually getting very slow loads and many "SM not responding" errors. Over the years of updates I notice that my profile got up to a size of 8GB! I cleared out a load of old emails and got it down to 4gb which has helped. I think there is still a lot of old files that are probably no longer needed but which ones can be deleted??????

I really don't think we need the TikTok style clickbait thread titles here for your Support questions.

Yes looks so. Totally dead. Not being updated for more than 2 weeks now. So use another browser and lets close this thread.

Frg, I have a question only a bit related to OP: what is status of 2.57 line?
Is officially dead or is still in development?

Interesting. Particularly since version 1.0 of SeaMonkey wasn't released until 2006! https://wiki.mozilla.org/SeaMonkey:Release_History
