I am attempting to follow the steps to move from MBOX storage format to MDIR. This involves using ImportExportTools to export all my emails from Thunderbird and then import them into a new Thunderbird profile.
However, I have a massive structure of folders full of emails evolved over more than 20 years of using email that I don't want to lose. I can't find a way to simply export all my emails with this folder structure and then import them including all the folder structure.
I have used the option "Export all the folders (with structure)" and this seems to have worked - I can see the result stored in MBOX format on the disk; all 3GB of it. However, there doesn't seem to be a corresponding option to import with structure. If I pick a directory, it only does that directory of emails and nothing else.
It's not practical for me to do all this one folder at a time; it would take me days. Any clues?
thanks for any advice.
